Diesel Particulate Filter (Flow-Through) for Harvard University
|
Description
Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Three MINE-X pDPF®
flow-through
diesel particulate filters
were installed on Harvard University diesel vehicles.
Challenge
Harvard Fleet Management Services in conjunction with the Harvard Green Campus Initiative are conducting a trial
of DCL s new MINE-X pDPF® flow-through diesel particulate filter to
reduce harmful emissions and improve the quality of life for Harvard workers, subcontractors and neighbors.
Solution
DCL provided Harvard Transportation Services
with three MINE-X pDPF®
flow-through diesel particulate filters for a 12-month field trial. The devices were built
into existing mufflers and installed on three university-owned diesel vehicles- shuttle bus, recycling truck and
front-end loader. The device reduces up to 60 % particulate matter, 98 % carbon monoxide and 95 % hydrocarbons.
