Marine
Marine diesel generators often spew black soot and fumes from their exhaust stacks, which blow onto a yacht’s deck and pollute surrounding waters. The MARINE-X™ diesel particulate filter (DPF) effectively reduces these harmful fumes and unsightly soot, improving the comfort and well being of passengers and crew. The passively regenerating, MARINE-X™ DPF also effectively reduces carbon monoxide, diesel hydrocarbons and diesel odour. Installed inline as part of the exhaust system on most marine diesels running on low sulphur fuel, the MARINE-X™
DPF can operate for thousands of hours with only minimal maintenance.
MARINE-X™ Diesel Particulate Filters for Marine Engines
Unlike traditional active systems that burn even more diesel fuel to regenerate, the DCL DPF utilizes wasted exhaust heat energy to burn off soot. The DCL system is less complex and has no moving parts so servicing is simple and not needed as often. In fact I use less fuel with the DCL system as I am able to run my generators at a 50% load rather than 65%.
As long as I am running within the target EGT the soot is being eliminated. Soot sinkers and soot traps still pollute! The DCL DPF has also lowered my exhaust sound levels. No more growl or drone, the only thing I hear is air.
Air that does not smell, air that does not leave soot on other boats, or soot around the boat while you’re swimming.
