Finite Element Analysis

An important consideration for many off-road applications is the high levels of thermal and mechanical stress on a catalyst or muffler. DCL conducts vibration testing for many off-road applications and uses FEA to assess a new design for thermal and mechanical stress. This allows correct mounting procedures to be established and ensures the designs will work without premature field failures.

DCL's Deformation of housing

Internal pressure of 0.5 bar (50 kPa) is applied to catalyst
housing to determine any areas of weakness.
Deformation is exaggerated for purposes of visualization.
