Production Supervisor

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are a fast-paced, highly motivated team of individuals, looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor accomplishes manufacturing employee results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Able to supervise and coordinate the production activities of 15-25 workers engaged in fabricating the catalytic mufflers and converters.
  • Have mechanical aptitude, considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade, good work history and good housekeeping habits.
  • Able to understand the fitting, assembling and welding processes using the designated jigs and fixtures.
  • Responsible for developing the production schedule in accordance to daily, weekly, monthly orders and shop working force. Prepares written documents such as performance evaluation and various reports.
  • Able to read complex technical drawings and have the experience and knowledge to work on prototypes.
  • Experience with multiple types of metal (mild steel, various stainless steel allows (303,316, 409, 439, etc.) and understanding of the different properties and how they relate to each other for welding, forming, etc.
  • ASME parts coordination (overseeing receipt of parts, labelling parts, scheduling, assigning work, etc.)
  • ERP experience (strong computer skills with various types of databases & programs).
  • Excellent attention to details and strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time.
  • Have some knowledge about JIT ("Just in Time") Manufacturing process. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.
  • Write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge-based competencies required and safety practices and procedures.
  • Instructs and trains employees and explains tasks clearly in assisting them in solving and diagnosing difficult manufacturing problems.
  • Work well independently and within a team and has the ability to coordinate efforts with fellow co-workers.
  • Take every effort to achieve company's goals/objective in service, productivity and inventory management.
  • Actively participate and support the company's safety and security standards at all times.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings to comply and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Attend and participate in house meetings, company training sessions as required furthering the development of skills to meet the company's objectives.
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma; Degree in technical, engineering or relevant field will be an asset.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as Production Supervisor or similar role.
  • Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office & ERP experience.
  • Organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.

Assembly Lead Hand (Piping Skid)

GraniteFuel Engineering Inc., a subsidiary of the DCL Technology Group, is experiencing rapid growth and requires an Assembly Lead Hand to join our Production team.

GraniteFuel develops, designs, manufactures and integrates biogas conditioning systems for various applications such as reciprocating engines, turbines, CNG and injection into gas utility networks.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify individual pipe stools, pipe fittings, hardware, different types of valves, and other related equipment (such as blowers, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.), and assemble them together according to drawings/images and other types of instructions.
  • Mentor and Lead other shop workers to conduct assembly work; check other shop workers' work quality and monitor their efficiency and progress.
  • Determine work procedures for skid by reading blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings
  • Organize raw material and tools, shop floor space, under the supervision of the Shop Supervisor.
  • Move, align and install sub-assemblies and components.
  • Fit, modify and assemble pre-fabricated metal parts to build skid.
  • Inspect and test all machinery and equipment based on inspection and test plan.
  • Operate forklifts, crane/rigging and other required power tools/equipment.
  • Excellent attention to details and strong appreciation of the importance of completing orders on time.
  • Maintain the company's housekeeping standards and organize materials and tools.
  • Work with Shop Supervisor and Product Develop Engineers to make assembly procedures and plans.
  • Actively participate and support the company's safety processes and procedures.
  • Occasional travel to job sites to assist commissioning and start-up.
  • Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years of related experience.
  • Forklift/Crane and other material handling equipment/devices experience is required.
  • Have mechanical aptitude, considerable knowledge of tools, equipment and materials.
  • Ability to read complex technical drawings is required.
  • Problem-solving skills and collaborates well with others.
  • Self-motivated with results-driven approach without sacrificing quality.

Spray Painter

We are currently seeking to hire a Spray Painter to join our team!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate a spray paint gun, brushes and masking tape to paint metal parts.
  • Use of a mechanical mixer to specifications of mix coating liquid.
  • Regularly cleans and maintains spray equipment, brushes, entire booth area and floor.
  • Performs regular preventative maintenance of paint spraying equipment and filter-change schedule.
  • Check the booth's pressure daily with manometer.
  • Perform shipping and packing tasks.
  • Maintains a clean, organize safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • High school diploma.
  • Able to lift and move objects of up to 15 kilograms.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands with good attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Cost Accountant

DCL International Inc is a global leader in the manufacturing of advanced emission control technologies and we are looking for a Cost Accountant!

DCL designs, manufactures and sells advanced engineering technologies worldwide to reduce emissions and to produce clean energy. DCL supplies to world-leading engine manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket retrofit.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Control monthly inventory counts and annual audit of inventory including raw materials, WIP counts and FG counts.
  • Implement and apply cost policies and procedures.
  • Ensure established policies and procedures as related to the physical inventory are followed and enforced and recommend changes when necessary.
  • Report changes in obsolete inventory on a quarterly basis.
  • Analyze gross margin by products and customer groups, sales trends, product mix and recommend changes.
  • Maintain standard costs.
  • Determine and analyze direct costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, material consumption and inventory trends, highlight possible improvements and risks when necessary.
  • Prepare inter-company costs for inter-company transactions.
  • Prepare monthly detailed financial reports.
  • Complete monthly financial analysis package for management, detailing financial results.
  • Review and complete all month end requirements including journal entries, cost reviews, accruals, provisions, allowances, depreciation, payroll, insurance and other entries in a timely manner.
  • Develop annual budget and forecasting processes.
  • Assist in ERP implementation.
  • Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 4-5 years experience in a cost accounting role within a Manufacturing environment.
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Mechanical Engineering.
  • CPA designation is highly valued.
  • Experience with cost accounting process.
  • Strong communication, technology and system skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • ERP implementation experience is a strong asset.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent team player.

Maintenance Electrician

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee required inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with Ontario Electrical Standards Act.
  • Read an interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures and other electrical components as needed.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Update and log electrical changes.
  • Execute minor mechanical repairs.
  • Maintain needed spares and purchase material in the most cost effective manner.
  • Coordinate with all plant services and contractors as required.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
  • Daily report using a computerized system.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Technical school training and completed as least the Apprenticeship Program.
  • Licensed Electrician (309A or 442A).
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC's using SLC 500 and Control Logics.
  • Ability to take information from pre-maintenance work orders to determine the location and the kind of work to be done. Read schematic drawings in order to trouble-shoot and repaid equipment.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot, diagnose, debug and repair industrial electrical equipment, electrical controls. Maintain and install any electrical work required to plants and office buildings.
  • Ability to interact with production staff to co-ordinate repairs to their equipment and discuss work orders with Supervisors.
  • Ability to take measurements using high voltage testing equipment. Use formulas from the Electrical Code to determine sized of cables needed when sized of motors and the lengths of cable runs are known.
  • Ability to work independently, however, work also as part of a team that includes other trades people and professionals to install, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
