JR Mechanical Designer/Drafter

We are currently seeking to hire a Junior Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our growing and well-established company.

Job Description:

  • Work as part of the Engineering group for drafting Emission Control Product, Silencer, Stack & Working Platform.
  • Collect information from our sales team and Sr. Design Engineers.
  • 3D modeling and drawings from concept to manufacturing detail.
  • Sheet metal parts design, Tooling/Fixture design, prepare detailed productions and engineering drawing.
  • Prepare layer by layer BOM in ERP system.
  • Communicate and follow up with different departments.
  • Continuous improvement, trouble shooting.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Educational Requirements:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Efficient with 3D modeling in SolidWorks, 2D drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Familiar with GD & T, BOM structure.
  • Efficient with Microsoft Office.

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of related working experience in mechanical design and drafting.
  • Experience working on multi-discipline projects and conflicting deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good team player.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude.

Production Supervisor

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are a fast-paced, highly motivated team of individuals, looking for a Production Supervisor to join our growing team. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor accomplishes manufacturing employee results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Able to supervise and coordinate the production activities of 15-25 workers engaged in fabricating the catalytic mufflers and converters.
  • Have mechanical aptitude, considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade, good work history and good housekeeping habits.
  • Able to understand the fitting, assembling and welding processes using the designated jigs and fixtures.
  • Responsible for developing the production schedule in accordance to daily, weekly, monthly orders and shop working force. Prepares written documents such as performance evaluation and various reports.
  • Able to read complex technical drawings and have the experience and knowledge to work on prototypes.
  • Experience with multiple types of metal (mild steel, various stainless steel allows (303,316, 409, 439, etc.) and understanding of the different properties and how they relate to each other for welding, forming, etc.
  • ASME parts coordination (overseeing receipt of parts, labelling parts, scheduling, assigning work, etc.)
  • ERP experience (strong computer skills with various types of databases & programs).
  • Excellent attention to details and strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time.
  • Have some knowledge about JIT ("Just in Time") Manufacturing process. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.
  • Write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge-based competencies required and safety practices and procedures.
  • Instructs and trains employees and explains tasks clearly in assisting them in solving and diagnosing difficult manufacturing problems.
  • Work well independently and within a team and has the ability to coordinate efforts with fellow co-workers.
  • Take every effort to achieve company's goals/objective in service, productivity and inventory management.
  • Actively participate and support the company's safety and security standards at all times.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings to comply and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Attend and participate in house meetings, company training sessions as required furthering the development of skills to meet the company's objectives.
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma; Degree in technical, engineering or relevant field will be an asset.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as Production Supervisor or similar role.
  • Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office & ERP experience.
  • Organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with results-driven approach.
  • Problem solving skills.

•Design products based of customers’ specifications.

•3D modeling, drawings and calculations from concept to manufacturing detail.

•Manufacturing process design, Tooling/Fixture design, Generate Layer by layer BOM.

•Perform Finite Element Analysis & Computational fluid dynamicswhere required.

•Perform Acoustic & Vibration calculation where required.

•Communicate and follow up with different departments.

•Continuous improvement, trouble shooting.

Educational Requirements

•Degree of Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

•Efficient with 3D modeling in SolidWorks, 2D drawings in AutoCAD.

•Familiar with GD & T, BOM structure.

•Efficient with Microsoft Office.

Additional Requirements

•Minimum 5 years of related working experience preferred.

•Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

•Good team player.

•Enthusiastic and positive.

•Experience on Pressure vessels, Heat exchanger, noise, vibration control, Wind load & Seismic load, will be a great asset.

•Familiar with various regulations/code compliance per OSHA, ASCE, STS & ASME.
